Looking to purchase an inexpensive code reader (engine light reader) for my 2005 Silverado. Any suggestions?

Does the box emit a wifi signal or how do the two link? I can turn my phone on to wifi but there has to be a wifi source?
it emits a wifi signal and connects through that. Much like bluetooth would, just using wifi.

Because apple cant communicate like it needs for this type of set up through its locked down bluetooth. So it uses wifi.

Elm327 wi-fi and dash command is definitely the way to go on Apple.

Was pissed when I had to pay an extra $10 for "extra GM" PIDs like trans temp.
