What do you guys think would be a good color combo with flames? Right now I'm thinking white with arival blue flames, white with candy apple red flames, or white with a candy apple blue flames. I'm also thinking about getting the truck an opalescent white

i personally think arrival is a bit too girly for a good ghost flame color... but maybe with a solid color and some air brushing it would be good. I personally would rather use a customcolor over a stock color. I personally like the mercedes bright blue, but thats just me...

Well if i do arrival it's not going to be the only shade of blue. It would be with a few other ones but it would be the main color. I really like the look of a candy apple color. I plan on having airbrushing done and some kind of design in the flames. That brings me to another question...
What would be a good design to do in the flames? I kind of want to do the iron cross but that is getting played out fast so I don't know.

PPG Dimond White Pearl With HoK Majik Blue or Burple stripped in green or silver(maybe a pure white). The blue on the PT Cruiser Turbo is real nice, so is Viper blue. Ford's Sonic blue is also nice, but I'd lay Prismatique(a multi color pearl) or a blue HoK Ice pearl to make the color come alive.

just do some traditional flames... iron crosses, stars, etc are already going out of style. Everyone and their mother has them on their truck, their clothing, and tatoo'd on their body already

Wish I saw this before my first reply.

For a design air brush a large skull in the center of the hood and maybe a few other smaller ones randomly. If you don't like the skulls some random flame licks or tire tracks would be different.

I forgot in my first reply, drop shadow the flames.

Yah that's why I really dont want to do it. I think I'll just have it traditional.
Any where I can see what these colors look like online? I know it would be best to see in person but I want to get an idea

:word: on the drop shadowing... air brushing and pinstripes can make or break flames... without them they look unfinished and half assed. Plus you don't want to go have to get ur truck uncleared to get them done later.

your paint guy should have some samples of colors... Just put them up next to ur truck and see what you like... i've done it to mine truck a few times... Oh make sure the guy thats flaming ur truck does good flames... there are some horrible flamers(joke) out there.

Sorry bro, can't think of any place online. Go by a paint supply and look at thier sample books, in the sun, but don't base your opinion fully on that small chip. Those two HoK blues didn't look right in the books I saw.

The blue in my flames is Majik blue over a black base, it's brighter over white.

Burple is a blue/purple kandi color.

HoK True Blue and oriental blue are brighter than Majik blue, the pt cruiser blue is too(I think Dodge used that same color on Dakotas for a few years).

Kandi blues from HoK are Burple,Cobalt(I damn near went with that color back when i was gonna do a solid color, but didn't want a full kandie paint job on a daily driver. It's fairly dark though) Oriental blue is available as a kandi or pearl. I'm pretty sure there are a few others, but it's been awhile since I went through the sample book. PPG and Dupont should have some also.

oh oriental blue :rocking:
It's too hard to fix scratches and chips. You have to repaint the whole pannle and if your painter doesn't rember the number of coats your not likely to match it. That's why Majik blue was my original chioce before the flat black, it's real similar to Cobalt only it's a pearl instead of kandi. I would't mind doing it as flames, especialy if i did reverse flames again, or for a graphic color.
