I havent fully decided what Im going with just yet. I have heard about alot of people burnin up the compressor's lately. I dont think i will have the room or extra cash for an engine driven compessor.

If i get nitrogen it will be mounted like its supposed to be with chrome brackets etc.. It will more than likey be two tanks so filling up wont be so constant

what are some of the problems with nitrogen besides getting them filled every so often and of course haveing a more volatile gas in the back of the truck :flame:

in the long run... nitrogen will be alot more expensive than a engine driven.

the only major downside is if you run out, ur SOL. If you choose to run nitrogen, i'd buy atleast one electric compressor just in case.

I didnt think nitrogen was a combustable gas. i thought the worse that could happen was it turn into a missle but it wouldnt blow up just shoot off.

Thats bad in its own respect for other people on the road with me but i dont want to mess with compressors burnin up since more than likely i will be playing with the switches alot when i first get it

From the pics i have seen of belt driven compressors take up alot of room and i dont think i will have much room left with 22's and a eventual body drop

How much do they run if i can squeeze the room for one?

I have Nitrogen and Compressors. Nitrogen cost me about 10-12 for a tank. As long as you watch your PSI on the nitrogen your cool. Don't worry about blowing up ... that is about as likely as your gas tank blowing up .. or some chick blowing you cause you have 22's. I would suggest a crappy compressor just incase.
yea i just read that nitrogen is non-flamable and relativley safe off some scientist webpage

btw did ekstensive bag your truck because that is who will be doing mine in june
if they did shoot me an email at [email protected] since i dont see any pm 's on here

I keep thinking about adding a scott pack (fire fighter) bottle to mine, the bottle is compressed to over 2000 psi, I would have to regulate it down of course .. would still want to keep the compressor for a backup.

I have 2 Viar 450s and Nitrogen on Mine. Nitrogen is good because there is no real wait time on fill. It just sucks to change bottles out and stuff. If I were u either run engine driven or Nitro with Compressor backups.

If you run nitrogen be sure to run a comp/tank backup just in case. Also invest in good bottle mounts....I cannot tell you how many times I've seen 2 nitrogen bottles strapped into a bed with people saying it's totally safe :pissed: .

If you tend to hit the switches A LOT that nitrogen will get pricy quick not to mention the moving back and forth or awkward bottles.

I still would say that in the long run a air commander engine driven would be the best way to go.

I had nitrogen and the only way I would ever think about going back to it is if i could find someone to refill the bottles while they're in the bed. Swappin' out bottles is more of a pain than they're worth IMO. If you want to play alot an engine driven and 12 gallon tank(if you can swing it 2 12 gollons) will pay for them selves over the cost of nitrogen. Besides, unless you paint the bottles to match your truck or have a cover made for them, they look like shit. The only real advantage nitrogen has is there is no wait time to air up, and it's faster.

i been thinking and i guess i really wont be playing all that much just a few air up's a day maybe like 3 or 4 times a day.

shows are another story...

I plan on at least rattle cannin' the bottles with a billet bottle rack should look ok until i can get a bed cover

another concern i have is people messing with the regulator in my bed i dont think people would but you never know

They make "Safety Caps" to go over the regulator. I have my bottles powdercoated. I also have never removed them, I have a guy who fills in the truck.

You can get two bottles .. a daily and a show?? But you can get a nice cover ... kinda of like from www.kaik.com
