Ok so a place called MB Truckmaster installed my lift around Xmas last year, very shitty piss poor job, anyone near San Antonio stay as far away as you can.... First, none of the shocks were tightened down, the compression struts were attached with only one bolt, they installed a 5.5" block in the rear instead of the AAL and 4" block, didnt do the alignment, drove my truck to the exhaust shop on my 285's and stock wheels and the inside of the tires rubbed the UCA to where noone would buy them. Now to somethin more recent, when they installed the kit they had the brake lines run to where they rubbed the CV Boot on the left side. All was well for 3 months or so then I noticed the CV boot is torn, well whatever, im kinda strapped for cash so I move the brake line (first time I notice) and drive it for a while, going 60 down 281 coming to a stop light my brake line blows, oh yea no brakes, almost take out an H2.

So the SS brake line rubbed the boot like crazy and likewise to the line so thanks to them I had to replace a line and a CV.

Since im pissed now, Fabtech. Yea shocks suck balls they wore out in 6 months. Brake lines suck cause the right side busted for no apparent reason, and i just hate spindle lifts, i cant keep my truck clean cause the tires stick out so far.

Thought I'd let yall know that.....

Yeah...thats not cool at all. Stephen does some quality work from what ive seen...and knows how to do just about everything suspension wise...and the best part of all is that he does it for VERY reasonable prices...i don't trust anyone really on my truck, esp not shops...stephens one of the few guys id actually trust to do anyhting to my truck, but a shitty install job is not cool at all...i wouldn't have put up with it.

Report them to the BBB. That shop should not be in Business doing work like that. It is no telling what else they do that could HURT or kill someone if that is the kind of work they are doing. :insane:

Thanks for the kind words. I just HATE seeing people get fucked by 4x4 shops, oil change places, misinformed people whatever. I learned a ton from other people and I try to pass along as much as I can. I love working on trucks and spend many hours each day researching things and love to share what I know. Its how I want to make my living. My thing with helping people instal goes like this. If its the first time Ive done something (like blue02s drop) I dont charge anything just because its a learning experiance for me and I feel like thats enough payment. Things ive done before I charge what I think its a very very fair and low price and I use that money to buy more tools so I can do more technical work. Im saving up instal money now to by a hydraulic press so I can gear axles with no outside shop help (now I have to go somewhere that has a press - why my front axle isnt done!) Eventually ill be saving for welders and shit like that so I can do everything from retube an axle to a custom 4 link. Hopefully I can help some members out! Also I love writing the tech articles I do, there are always some in the works, a bodylift one now thats just waiting on another instal for pics and also the "ultimate" GM IFS 401 - it will explain EVERY aspect of GM IFS and list EVERY part# I can find, after market upgrades, you name it! (wont be done for months but is going to be a 50 page + MONSTER) - think of my TB article for the whole front end, 4x4, 2x4, obs, nbs you name it! Also want to add if you are ever in the middle of an instal or something and have a question you think I might be able to answer feel free to hit me up on AIM or give me a call, Im available 24/7 on my phone (281-610-8743) and that # is also my away msg on AIM which is always on pretty much. Im just here to try and help!

Hey guys, im glad to hear all the support from yall. all i know is that yall are a good group of guys, too bad everyone wasnt real local, we would have a militia of badass trucks to take on everyone with all the knowledge put together. But back to reality I just want to show everyone the lesson I learned, a good deal usually wont yield good quality. This was my first project and I have learned alot. Reasearch everything before you get too excited. 500 bucks was a good deal to get my lift installed so i jumped on it, well not too bright, but live and learn.....pay the extra bill or so and dont have any worries with your pride and joy. Stephen I'll for sure keep you in mind, the piece of mind of a quality job would be well worth the drive....hey, you heard anything on that axle? If not, no biggie, just be a big help....thanks all, hope I helped a few locals here....
