Im looking at buying some shorties for my truck. I have heard good and bad about these. I know that long tubes will give me some more hp, but i dont wanna screw with modifying stuff so it will fit. I can get shorties for half the price of long tubes. Do you guys think it will be worth it or should i get a K&N or something? By the way its for a 97 with a a 350. Thanks.

Man, you'd be disappointed with the gains of shorty headers. They will make a bit more power over manifolds but don't expect massive torque gains.

Thorley LTs are about the same price was as good shorty headers and will make easily 10-15 more rwtq and 8-10 more rwhp over shorty header gains.

Just a K&N isn't going to add anything noticable, an entire intake setup would help. K&N FIPK, Volant, etc.
