Drop hitch where to buy and what brand?

how high is the tounge on the trailer for your new boat?

If I remember correctly, U-HAUL carries up to 12" drop hitches. I bought an 8" drop from them when I had my 6+3 IFS setup.

Don't haveit yet so i couldn't tell you right now.

My local trailer shop had lower prices on drop ball mounts than anything I could find online for a 15k/1.5k rated one. I've only got a 4" drop though.

I bought my old 8" and then my 11" drop from the local trailer sales place. Although its not really rated high enough for me. I'm gonna do an extra back brace/gusset on it.

might want to wait till you have it and can see how big you need... i got my 14" steel for my 2" balls at 4wheelparts along with my 10" alum stinger for 2 5/16s... and some word of advice those rapid hitches or adjustable hitches dont drop as much as they say, a 10" drop is really only 8"

I hope you dont put any real weight on that hitch there buddy. That looks like a disatster IMO.

i just bought an 8" drop but should buy a 10" as well.

looks sketchy...VERY sketchy.

I wouldnt use it to tow a 5-6K trailer by any means, but it does fine towing my quad trailer. :shrug:

what do you consider real weight? opinions are like assholes on the weight issue. ive pulled 8800 lbs many times with it. would'nt think twice to tow 10-12k with it. its rated for 8,000 with out the braces


bought the hitch from JRD and made the braces. welded 2 trailer spring shackles to the cross member under the truck and put a bolt thru it. then just bought some solid 1" bar. cut it to length. threaded heims into each end. welded 2 bolt ends to the hitch. and done
