Well I don't know when the hell it happened, but somewhere I drug my rollpan, it didn't crack it, but it did take some of the filler off of the bottom of it and has scrape marks in it, pisses me off cause I just got the entire bed painted 2 months ago. If I fix this can it be blended using a small amount of paint and clear? It's not noticible, unless you lean down to look at my tanks under the bed and is about 1" x 1/2" in size.

If you still have paint left over from when it was painted the last time, it can easily be blended. If you have to buy paint, it should be close to the same color but if not you will just have to fade it gradually as to blend the colors.

I hope this helps!

my pan has been hit man times... they have usually masked it off along the body line under the rear part of the back fenders. If you looked at it closely before, you would see a line where it was masked off, but it wasn't too bad. its alot less work than painting the whole damn thing :read: And you can't really notice it unless someone is looking for it. ALot of my truck was painted that way before i had it redone

Aight thanks guys, I got a little paint left over at the body shop.
2k1slvrado: I was thinking about doing that, but befor the truck was redone I too had alot of tape line and I don't think I could handle that again cause I'm one picky mofo and those tape lines got really old really fast. I may just blend everything back there because I have to redo my license plate box cause I drug it too. I was thinking of just cutting the part that hangs down off and welding up the hole that is left over, that way nothing stuck down. I'm not driving my truck around all the time with a 9" drop out back anymore, even though I like the look of it.

you honestly couldn't tell it was there, i wish i had a pic of it, it was taped fairly high into the crack, so the only way you could tell was running ur hand along the seam. I knew it was there, and that was one of the reasons why i had my truck repainted recently :D

You can back tape it alot the bottom body line...by that i mean overlap the body line with some 2 in. tape...then pull it up (roll over) and connect plastic/paper to it....this gives you a soft edge....just blend the repaired area with basecoat and clear the rest. if you are really picky you can buff the paint edge and it will be almost not there. I wouldnt recommend burning anything in like they are mentioning...eventually it will show and look like crap...and that doesnt go well with the rest of your truck. to do it completely right...blend the repaired area and clear the whole bed. :head:
