well, after my 3/6 drop on my truck the damn exhaust sticks out real bad, and looks kinda goofy too.

so, i've put some thought into just cutting the tailpipe off and adding a dump right before the rear axle. will i lose any of my already lacking ommph? what if i just cut it back from the tailpipe alittle, so it still goes up above the axle and just when it starts to come back down and cut it off right there?

I know what you are talking about, I have this kind of set up with my IMCO muffler.

A few pictures of what mine looks like:

The exit is hardly visible unless you get bend down and look or look down into the passenger side rear wheel-well. The tail-pipe is a little more than an inch away from the spare tire, but less than half an inch away from the leaf-springs

I don't believe the piping after the muffler makes a difference. You can dump it right after the muffler, over the axel or whichever way you prefer and all of them will work.

sweet. i think i'll just do what jon did. i dont have the spare under there anyway. plus with it being lowered, you shouldn't be able to see it at all.

Well, if you don't plan to have the spare under there at all, I would try to center the exit. Meaning, where your hitch is at (or if it was removed, directly underneath the bumper in that was receiver was in that space before.)

I think that'd be cool, but I dunno about anyone else though. Just an idea.

Dumping after the muffler shouldn't have any effect on the power.

I will likely make the exhaust louder and lower in tone. And can kick up more dust if you travel on dirt roads.
