Dumping a Dually

Hey guys, I have a '97 GMC 3500 Dually... 2wd of course... I am wanting to do a 5/7 drop with Slam Air bags out back. Do you fellas reccomend Bell Tech or DJM?

Also, if anyone knows of any good drop shops in Austin, TX I would love to hear about it.

So your wanting it static dropped in the front and bagged in the rear?

On my 98 1500 i used djm and was pleased with it.
No static drop all around... the Slam Air bags are just to aid in load leveling when pulling a trailer.
oooo ok i get you. Yeah I think that would be a good setup, but I've personally never run air over leaf setup so i can't give first hand experience.
Id buy belltech over DJM. You oughta just save up and bag it so you can tow at close to stock height.

word:read:
as far as belltech or djm... they are both great companies... what itll prolly come down to is how each one gets the drop and price.

Bagged04:
with the bags in the rear for towing, they will be deflated for normal driving and inflated when he hooks up a trailor, the bags wont affect the ride at all cause when they are deflated, he'll be riding on his static drop

actually on the dually kits you have to pull leaves out of the pack, so you ride with air in them all the time.

My dad had belltech 5/7 on his '97 dually...it was cool, no problems.

really... i thought on dually's you could do a flip kit and thats how they did it to retain towing capacities...

either way, itll look sick:head:
maybe its a flip and removal of leafs? Im not sure but I remember my Dad having to pull leafs and not being to happy about it. This was back in 98 or so, when it was uncommon for people to cut up their daily. hahaha

Word to that man it will be sick!
hey man I'm about 45 minutes north of austin, but I could help you out I'm in austin almost every week for work or my girl so hit me up
The belltech flip required removal of the overload leaf when I did it. I still towed crap all day long with no air assist. However, the air assist would be nice to smooth out the ride....
