Ok I'm going to be getting an exhaust on my truck this week and I want to run the same stetup that my friend has on his 03 Z71. He is running 3" piping from the cat-back with a one chamber flowmaster, dumped. I am going for the same setup but I was wondering will the 3" piping from the cat-back make that much difference in sound or performance? I believe the stock piping is 2 and 3/4" so 1/4 of an inch doesn't seem like it would make that much difference to me. Any help is appreciated.

Thank You

Will not make much a difference for sound or performance. Once the freer-flowin muffler is installed, that will make the difference. :ninja:

i concur with all of the above... i would keep the stock diameter going to the muffler coming from the cats and go with a 3" coming out the muffler, so as to keep some back pressure for some low end torque..

the muffler is what is going to make the difference.
