Why is it when I use the wireless fm Trans on my xm radio do I loose the bass that you get when hooked directly?

With FM you're limited to the bandwidth of FM modulation. FM has a limited frequency response, but it's usually lost more on the high end and the very low end. If your FM modulator sucks that could be part of it also.

I have a few wired FM mods if you want, but they arent that much better being direct

I have a roady xt xm that I want to use with the sony cd player but it gives very little to no bass compared to direct plug in

Since you know that, that means you have a way to plug it directly in, yes? Why not just do that? Sound quality will be better regardless.
