I've used Valvoline for YEARS in my other vehicles and my families rides...changed ~3500-4000mi and been problem free.

I'd have NO problem using their Syn oil...hell I may try some out here. I run Mobil 1 in my WRX and Z71 but Valvoline 5W30 dino in all the rest...

Back when I was growing up all we used was valvoline in everything. Now I still use valvoline and my dad uses Mobil 1. I've been considering switching, just haven't done it.

i think the point here is that you're getting $28 worth of synthetic oil for free. i run 7500 mile dran intervals with 5w30 and it comes out clean, if you're changing synthetic at 3000 miles you're wasting your money.

Just be aware Castrol Syntec is not a true synthetic like they claim. :read:

yah i run mobil 1 and i use the K&N oil filter...i change my oil about every 5000 -5500 miles or so and it comew out clean....

My favorite thing about the K&N oil filter is the nut welded on the bottom. Its a 3/4 if I recall correctly. You can take the filter on and off with a standard socket wrench. That alone is worth the price difference.

I push syn oil to 10K...with a filter change and add a quart at 5k mi. Done this for 20K mi now w/o a problem.

Changing dino at 3K is a waste, syn at 3K is even worse.
