Are you able to get the cv axle out without undoing the outer tierod and just undoing the lower ball joint and lower shock bolt?

The leaking seal happens to be on the side that has a stripped out outer tierod bolt/nut.

Unbolt inside cv bolts 6 IIRC and the outer 36mm at the hub. unbolt sway bar and out comes the axle.

Awesome. I thought you had to unbolt the lower ball joint and the lower shock bolt. That's much easier!

The axle just slides out, pull the old seal out, tap in the new one and tap in the axle back in?

if youre fixing that why not fix the tre too.....

It's a new tie rod, that's the thing. I was on the last turn tightening it and it just started to spin freely. I got the cotter pin in and haven't thought about it since until now. I've only got maybe 1k miles on the front suspension now.
