Dropping the Apache down even lower, Ralph swapped the fullsize body mounts in favor of S-10 mounts, basically body-dropping the truck 1-1/4 inches. This is a slick and easy mod that makes a big difference in the overall look.

do it man...

I have wanted to rip the rear bumper idea since I first seen it.
 @ Apache, they stole that shit from 58-59 chevy trucks. Thats what they were called.
yea I know they stole the name lol, and if this "bodydrop" works I am going to do it, I might as well right? shockwaves and a lil lower body,

if u look the supercharger seems to sit same distance from the cowl, so maybe the avy body mounts are bigger then ours/s10s cuz, :(

I'm also interested about the S10 bodymounts for 1" more drop. I wonder if there would be any clearance or heat issues with the body sitting down an inch farther. The only immediate problems I can think of would be the front fenders and rear fenders would probably hit the tire as they rub when laid out now, but that isn't a huge problem. I'm more concerned about the cowl, transmission parts, etc.

If it works, I'm 100% in.
What about the steering collumn? does it have a collapsable slip or will that need to be addressed? Does your transmission use electronics to select the gear or is there a rod assembly coming from the firewall steering collumn?
I got all excited about it, but the more I think about it the less I think it will work. Looks like it would be about the same amount of work to just go ahead and lay it flat.

And they were alot better looking to.......
only avalanches have body body mounts for the bed. reg pickup trucks dont. avys do because there is no seperation from the body to the bed so they have to use rubber flexing mounts.
sorry to hate and say it wont work on seirra or silverado trucks. so you mights well channel it.
you can bodydrop the truck up to three inches on nbs before you run into problems with steering colums and such

The Avalanche is on the suburban frame and also will not lay the frame without a back halfed frame. The s-10 body mounts are indeed smaller, and people do use that trick to body drop their trucks, my friend cut his mounts down on his blazer to body drop it.
i understand the bed has to be regular body droped, im wondering more bout the cab.
