I believe I asked a variation of this question before, but after talking with a friend of mine have a more specific version.

I am in the process of getting some new tires and would like to go a little narrower (if thats a word). I currently have the following on the truck now:

ProComp Xterrain A/T
325/65/18 (which I believe is the equivilent to 35/13.5/18)

Im currently looking at a set of Nitto Mud Grapplers in the following size:

35/12.5/18

My question is this; first, if these two brands of tires were exactly the same size is there any difference? Sometimes tires "run big" or "run wider" etc. so i was wondering if this is the case with these 2 brands.

Secondly, will there be any issue with downsizing to the 12.5? The wheel will obviously stay the same so not knowing much about tires/wheels I was wondering if this a) is even possible, and b) if it is possible, is there any harm in doing this.

Youll be fine. Look at specs though on each companies website to actually see their true specs. I ran 12.5s with 12s for a long time and I will in the future. One thing though, those mud grapps are expensive and dont wear good at all. Im a swamper man and would say get iroks around that size but thats just me.
