Green keys and other questions

I ask for you to pardon my ignorance on the subject, I did a search but came up empty. I don't know many truck forums so I'm sorry if these questions get asked a lot.

I see a lot of people using these "green keys" to lift the fronts of their trucks and then using blocks in the back. I went to the performancelifts.com website and saw the "torsion keys", I'm assuming those are they same thing as the green keys. These lift the front 2", my question is can I still crank the torsion bars up for some more lift? Maybe another inch to get 3" total and then use 2" blocks in the rear. I'm looking to clear 317/75/16's but I know they will rub really bad on a stock, as my 305's rubbed when they were new.

Also, I was thinking about doing an airbag lift, is there any such thing for the HD trucks? The reason I need to do this is because I plow with the truck in the winter and the plow wouldn't be able to go all the way down with a suspension lift.

Thanks for your time,

Justin

air bags can only be done on the rear of IFS trucks, as far as i know, I dont see how you could do it and keep cvs from binding, tie rods from..yea, theres no way....you can get a body lift that way your frame stays in the same place and just the body is lifted, then you could still plow.....
The green keys are the half ton truck keys. They allow you to crank your bars more. The bad part about this is your CV angles etc.. get worse with every inch y ou go up. I would not even try to crank past 2" or your going to be tearing parts apart all day.

:word:

Adding the keys is the same as cranking, the keys just alow you to crank further than you can with the stock keys

thats what I figured and why I asked. I have the torsion bars up 2" on my current truck now with stock keys.

Would I have a lot of problems and clearence issues with 315's on a stock HD with the torsion bars up 2"?

Yes you cab still crank some but I would not'recommend going over 2"

You can do bags in the rear as previously mentioned but not for the front. However a set of Timbrens might help you while plowing. Might take a little extra work w/ the added height.

would it be worth keeping the green keys off my truck when i do my sas?
the keys come in four degrees of torsion bar rotation angle it has been over a year since i messed with them but they are all color coded and they rotate from like six degrees all the way to 15 degrees just like the other guys said it will bind your axle cvs. If the SAS you are talking about is a straight axle swap you will not need any of that stuff any way. then you could air bag both ends for an infinite ride height, but you better have your ducks in line on drive shaft angles and spline travel in your slip yokes. if you are any kind of friend with your gm parts dealer he will look up the colors on the keys and tell you the rotation angle.
