I cranked my bars and the ride was bouncy as hell, put the keys in and got about 1.5" and its no where near as bad. I cranked the green keys and it was horrible.
On the old truck: I put green keys in, cranked 2" and pulled the front bumper forward about an inch (dremeled out the holes and welded them on the frontside so it wouldnt slide. It just barely, barely fit
The keys wont be needed if you can get the desired amount of lift with just cranking the stockers. The only reason would be if the stock keys bottom in the crossmember. Every truck is a little different, but you should be able to get a least 1.5" out of the stockers.
No matter how you gain lift using the TBs by cranking or putting new keys in, you will get a stiffer ride.
if you want a set of green keys, i have my stock 1/2 ton keys for sale
shoot me a pm if interested
