ok so i have an 03 chevy 1500. so my gauges randomly go from operating range back to as if they were off. also all the other various lights will come on and gauges themselves. speedo,tach,oil volts etc etc lights will dim and get bright randomly. i have an autopage alarm and aftermarket stereo would these things be causing these problems ? thanks for your time

It's possible. The alarm is connected to light flash, which does your gauge lights, and your radio may be connected to that wire as well. Another possibility is behind the radio it's NOT connected and touching metal periodically. I'd start by looking behind the radio first.
