h2 takeoffs???

Will a set of h2 take offs work with a 6" tuff country? I know they need aftermarket wheels cause of backspacing but I'm unsure if these will work. The dealer is gonna trade me my take offs for a set of h2's if it's gonna work.

What do you guys think, it says I need a 8" wheel

I think the backspacing is too much on the H2's. I know some have used spacers to clear with that setup.
they said I need 4.5 bs and a 8" wide wheel. I'm hoping h2's will work.
i think the h2 wheels have either 5.5 or 5.375" backspacing (have heard both) and are 17x8.5, my fabtech lift recommends 4 5/8" backspacing and i know for a FACT my stock 16" aluminum HD wheels with 5" backspacing fit with plenty of clearance since i drove around like that for a few days, since the Hummer H2 wheels are 17" i would think that would give it slightly more clearance, but then it also has slightly more back spacing so im not sure, i have a set of takeoffs laying around the house i was thinking of using for spares, and im going to be working on my truck this coming weekend so i will test fit them and let you know, i know its not tuff country but its still a knuckle lift and might give you an idea
Are you serious my stock 07 wheels will work with the 8" fabtech kit? The shop that I went to told me there is no way it will work, but I guess I'll give em a call tommorow. Thanks for the help
ive seen some pics with stock wheels on a 8" fabtech. but why do you want that lift man, your front track will be HUGE

is it 07 classic? my stockers fit on my 01 with 8" fabtech, and yes it does increase track width alot, but my fronts were still inside the fender flares on the stock wheels, cant say the same for my new 10" wide wheels, they stick way out

if you go back and look at my thread with pics of my truck theres a picture of it sitting on a trailer with my stock wheels on it when i was taking it to get aligned, i drove around for a few days like that waiting on lugnuts for my other wheels, no clearance problems, if i would have known it would work ahead of time i would have kept my stock wheels and thrown some 11r16 michelins on the stock wheels
theres no way I could get a stock rims on a 37" bfg mt is there?
well BFG MT 37 would be 12.50 wide, and ive seen plenty of guys running 35x12.50 on stock wheels, granted its not the best combo, but its been done,
Sorry I don't have any lift with my H2 wheels, so I can't comment about them clearing the Tuff Country lift.

But, I do have a set of 35" Dunlop MT's mounted on my stock wheels that I use a spares for the 35's I have on my H2 wheels, and there is no way I'd use the Dunlops for anything other than spares. Yes, the 12.50's fit on a 6.5" width rim, but they bow out like crazy and will flop all over the place. So you could run a 37x12.50 on your stock wheels, but I wouldn't recommend it (looks funky, ride sucks, handling sucks, etc.).

Tom
You "could" run a 37/12.50 on your stockers, but like said they will be "ballooned" out quite a bit, and wear the center faster. But, if you talking about stock HD 16" rims, then BFG M/T's are a no go due to only coming in a 37/12.50/17. Now if your talking about the takeoff H2's, then they'll work being 17" and also they are wider and will work better with the 12.50 tire.

Also I know with my 7-9" Cognito, they say you can only run a stock 16" HD rim with the lift up to a 285/75/16 tire. Thats due to the sidewall bulge of only a 285 comes real close to the lift spindle. I know on mine, I had my stockers on the truck with 285's and sidewall of the tire was within a 1/4" of the spindle. Any wider or taller of a tire, it would bulge more on the stock rim and rub the spindle without some type of wheel spacer. I've wanted to throw 315/75/16's on my stockers for winter use, but I know without a good sized spacer they won't clear the spindle.

Garrett- do you remember on the 8" Fabtech how much clearance there was between the sidewall of the tire and the spindle with your stockers and 285's???

is it an 8 lug? I will sell ya my chrome rims for $500 and then some new 37/13boggers (used twice in a mud drag) mounted on them for $1200

more than enough to stick my hand between, actually enough that i wedged the head of a flashlight between the tire and the spindle to aim it at the caliper while i put brake lines, and yea that is true about the 12.50s balooning out big time on the stockers, but i saw 2 identical trucks at the beach a few weeks ago running the 37/13 boggers nolan speaks of on stock wheels, though they were 7.5" wide 1500 wheels, and they fit pretty nice
