You can't join the forum and start selling thing right off the rip. You need to stick around for a while and become an established member with 50+ posts.

There's a few ways to deal with that issue. I subscribe to every thread I post in. You can look at a list of your subscriptions, and those with new posts will have a small orange dot to their left. Clicking that dot brings you to the first new post.

To subscribe to a thread, at the top of the thread there is a menu that says "Thread tools". You can automatically subscribe to threads where you post (as long as you don't use the "quick reply" box); to do so, click "User CP" at the top of the page, then "Edit Options" along the left side. In that page there's a "Default Thread Subscription Mode" section.

Then, to view your list of subscriptions, go to UserCP again and click "List Subscriptions". Or, when you go to UserCP you'll automatically be shown just the latest subscribed threads.

One caveat: Any time you visit the site, it will mark your subscribed threads as up-to-date even if you didn't read them, so the next time you won't have convenient access to the posts you didn't read via the orange dot.
