All the ignitions are basically the same. If you had a cut key you could probably start your buddies truck. I know for almost a fact that you can take your cut key and open any door since all the door locks are the same pretty much.

So this blank key can turn on any truck?
Is there a way to actually have the key only turn on your truck and no one else's?

I would try it out on some friends' trucks and see what happens. It could just be that your ignition switch is so old and worn out that you could turn it on with a screwdriver

Ignition cylinder has nothing left, and vats is deleted.

As someone that’s owned over 500 99-06s, iv never seen a blank key, or my box of 100 keys turn any ignition without serious know how.

Door locks are a joke thought.

Well the key I have doesn't open the doors either.

For now I ordered a new cylinder and go from there see where it takes me

Not yet will soon why?
Might wanna get on that ASAP. Dealships will give you the correct tumbler order, so door and injection matches. Just need the title.

What key are you going use for that new cylinder? You don’t have a key or title.
