HELP! My headlights don't work

45735 Views 16 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Jack1181
Last night while driving home I found out my heads lights were not working. My DRL still work but when I flip my switch to the verticle position only my parking lights work. My rear lights work fine. I've looked for a blown fuse or relay and can not find one. Please help

Get out a meter or a light probe and check for voltage at the headlamp harness into the bulbs. I'm guessing it's a relay. You can check fuses.. But how did you check the relays?

:looks at electrical panel:

Yep. Relays are still there! :jester:
The problem is when the switch is at just the parking lights the DRL (which are my low beams) are still on, but when I switch it to lights the lights go off and the parking lights stay on. The trucks a 96. Since I don't have a meter is there any other way to check?
Ok thanks for your input

Yeah it sounds like the switch. Mine is showing signs of wear too. When I turn the headlights on they will not come on or will flicker off. Same thing for the dash light too. I just turn the switch off then on again and all is good.
I have this same problem but swapped the switch with one from a different truck and it still didn't work. May buy a new switch but could it be anything else? I have ruled out the bulbs, fuses in fuse box in dash and under hood.
I dont know. If I wiggle mine it will sometimes turn the lights on. I have not recieved my new switch yet. So I have to wait to find out if thats the problem
well, post a reply when you get it and install it to let us know if that worked
I was going to make a new thread today. I got the new switch in and it still doesnt work. The lights in the switch stay on all the time which the old one did not. But my headlights still do not come on
no shit, im going to do the tune up and probably sell it
Mitch did you find the problem i am having the same issue
