I'm wanting to do the Big 3 on my '73 Chevy and need some input/help on it. Its got a new starter and alternator on it and it will start up fine, but remember last winter that after running for awhile and if you'd kill it, it was like the battery was half dead. So hopefully this will up my voltage to help fix that issue and to help out with all the lights I got as well.
Currently its set up like this:
Battery:
+ To starter.
- To alternator bracket...or To the block.
I did read the sticky for NBS or so trucks. I can go ahead and add another wire running from the Battery (-) to the frame and I already have the (-) going to the block. But what about the (+) side? I put a reman alternator on it last fall and don't remember what all wires came off of it; do know theres a 3 wired plug going into it and I think there was one other small wire going to it (Maybe I'll have to look it over again).
Also, I didn't look, but am unsure if theres a ground wire from the block to the frame or cab or not. Would it matter if I added another short wire running from the block to the frame?
