I have a relay for my HID setup, but i dont have it installed yet. I was planning on installing it tonight, but i ran into a snag...

The end that is supposed to connect to the battery is not big enough to fit around the bolt.

What should I do? cut the end off and splice on a bigger connector? would that be ok?

oh and btw this is the relay i have

Slide off the fuse box cover. Not the top, but the sides. Theres a couple places to put it in there.

ok so i was working on installing the relay harness....and i ran into a problem.

only one side will come on. ive got everything connected correctly. ive got the power to the alternator thingy, then the low beams on my driver side are inserted into the only female plug on the harness. then the harness has female ends that are supposed to go to each ballast. along with a ground on each side. Idk whats wrong

any ideas?

multiple things to try here.

exchange bulbs from the working side to the not working side to eliminate an issue with a bad bulb. if you find both bulbs now work move to trying to swap ballasts to elliminate an issue with one ballast....if both ballasts work...just simply try turning the plug from the relay harness to the side that is not working over 180 degrees...might just try this step first!

Get yourself a test light. unplug the ballast on the side that does not work and check for power. if you connect the test light to a power source, you can check for ground also with a test light. these things are massed produced in china and quite often are piles of junk. If you have power and ground at the ballast connector, be sure power goes to power and ground to ground, you can easily swap the connector around on most ballasts. If you dont have power, call the site you got your relay kit from and get them to send you a new one. if they are no help, call me and i'll make you a good deal on a new one.

Tried again with new grounds on both sides, and flipped the polarity. both came right on! Now the lights dont flicker, and they come on all the time everytime, instead of just one or the other sometimes and then having to flip them on and off.
