Can you replace the factory bose sub with a better one and put a good amp... but still leave the sub in the console? What size is the factory sub anyway?
I searched but couldn't find anything.

if i remember correctly, it is an 8 inch sub. as for the other ?'s, i don't know.

sure you could, but you would either need to leave the factory amp in there to feed the signal, or get some adaptor to pull the signal off the back of the deck

ditch the stock amp,it wont sound good if you try to amplify an already amlified signal, ditch the stock and wire a new one in the stock location.

people do it all the time, its either that or get an interface for it

If I remember correctly when I had the console apart it is a 6 1/2", that is what was in my 04 Escalade. I wouldn't even bother. No air space for it to do anything.

besides the cost of the sub and amp you want to throw in place of the bose... whats the cost for the stuff to make it work?
