I was takin off my tailgate cover thas on the top and got about 12in off and noticed a hole. It really looks like its supposed to be there and has 6 sides. I was wondrin how I could fill it in. weld? This would really help and clean the tailgate up alot.

I welded my holes with my 99 Sierra when I had it. Best way to go. For a temporary look, some of the truck shops carry extra buttons that can go over the holes.

some guys use the spiked license plate screws. It looks pretty good if your not willing to shave them. My tail gate didnt have them, so go figure
