I have a '04 4.8 liter V8 engine and about to change the oil. Since I didn't get the right owners manual with the truck I have no clue as to how many quarts it takes. Any help is grealty appreciated

They hold 6.

4.8, 5.3, 6.0 all take 6 quarts. Verify the oil filter, my dad's '03 sierra 4.8 takes a different one than my '01 chevy 4.8.

Is one of them 2wd or 4wd? That would explain the different filters.

On the NBS the 2wd and 4wd of the same year take the same filter. For 2003 GM switched to a shorter filter. Thats my experience with them.
