is there a way to get rid of an oil cooler?

on a 93 silverado

line was nicked while working on something else and oil just shots outa the line...
plus the fittings on the radiator are cross threaded..so if line was fixed, it would leak anyway..
just another pain in the ass thing to hold us back..

just if u could just do away with oil cooler, make the lines go together or what?

On mine it looks like the lines are just connected to the filter adapter, possibly just replace that with a regular one with no hookups.

If its 4wd and has the sideways small pf52 filter maybe you could also go for a not-sideways normal size filter. I don't see at all where it would get in the way of anything and the sideways is a pain. But I'm living with it because I like the idea of an oil cooler.

I had to eliminate an oil cooler on my bbc recently. The above picture is the adapter and can be found on all sbc amd bbc blocks that didn't come with the oil cooler. Don't buy an after market one, just find one from a wrecker or a buddy.

What if you capped them off in adapter with plugs?
