How to replace 3rd break light...?

I bought a vandalized truck. 2007 GMC Sierra 5.3 Crew Cab New Body Style. They torched the interior of the truck. How do I rerun wires for the 3rd brake light? What is easiest way and what is the correct way that it was wired from the factory?

Thanks,
paul

Junkyard an buy a whole truck harness
after seeing the pictures, i wouldnt want to fix it.
How is that truck not a write off? I think the 3rd brake light is the least of your problems.

:word: Every panel in that thing must be so fubared. Hope you didn't pay much.
I would not want to deal with that at all.
I hope you didn't pay much also, but the project would be a blast, IMO. If you had space/time/money
Very cool. Thank you for the electrical output. For the others, thanks for your laughs and jabs. However, I got it cheap enough and it blue books at 24,000 dollars when fully repaired. I only have 4900 into it right now. Another 1000 and I will have a salvage repaired title. Not bad for 6,000. I know I need parts and it will still need some work, but still it works for me and I'll keep fooling with it. One day you will see the final picture. I hope much better than the starters. :)

it blue books @ 24k with a clean title... probably closer to 8-10k now after repaired.

good luck though.
Actually where I am I am seeing people pay 3/4 of blue book value on trucks out here. So, it doesn't matter to me. I will have fun restoring it.

Thanks,

story behind the truck?
I bought the truck as a fixer upper. I had pictures of the inside of the truck before I purchased. Last owner said no damage to electrical. That wasn't entirely true, but close enough. I am searching for the break light wires before I put the carputing back in. Reguardless I am having a blast with this truck. My regular chevy cavalier is f'd up. I dropped 400 into it in 3 weeks and it's still not runninng correctly. something about idle control moter was bad. ANYWAYS, I need to get the truck "road worthly"

Thanks for your help!

I look forward to the finished product as well. It will be quite interesting. Might be worth buying another donor truck thats wrecked but still has usable parts you need.
I saw on the front panel there was a circuit board on the passanger side of the truck. Is the power for the third brake light off of a circuit? I noticed in the rear (after I replaced the lights) that the lights hooked to a panel in the rear. Can anyone tell me where panels are in the truck. Most of those manuals don't really show wiring ON the truck. Just pictures of what voltage it is and where it's to / from. I am going to check tomorrow and see if the power came from the rear where the left and right side panels plug in, but figured I would ask a group of experts.

Thanks,
paul
I cannot figure out where the high mount brake lights come from. I pulled the wiring out of a work truck and it was located on the driver side front windshield. Anyone know where the wires go or are located?

thanks,
paul
Thats going to be one hell of a project, how long do you think its going to take to finish the project?
