I am having trouble getting parts so would like to swap an 88 GMC fuel pump into a 98 GMC. Is there a fuel pressure issue or difference?

88-95 is a lower pressure, around 15-20 psi, 96-98 is much, much higher around 50-60 psi. Won't work.

I have a fuel pump that I ordered off eBay that im not going to be using I bought it for my 06 Yukon it just don't have the pressure switch that my Yukon has which is a second plug on the fuel pump. (Which this fuel pump didn't have) if that matter? My 06 Yukon 4x4 SLT model needed the extra plug. So I just have a fuel pump that maybe might work for you? Never been used. Has seal.

Have you looked on rockauto.com? They list a whole bunch of fuel pumps for 98 pickups.
