in this case, forgetting to put a grab handle on the driver side. i ordered another passenger side handle, but in the meantime i removed my passenger side handle and after 2 hours, it's now my driver side handle. it mounts in the metal roof with 2 plastic tabs, i had to cut them off, bore out the inside of each mounting point to accept a screw, jam a 1/4" flat washer in there so the screw would hold the handle, drill my headliner and roof, and believe it or not, it worked. damn thing is on there tight too. i was going to do a writeup but it's such a pain in the ass i doubt anyone would want to do it. trying to get in this thing without a handle was no fun.

iono, i told the parts guy at the stealership that if i ever met whoever designed the inside of this thing, i would kick him in the nuts. the guy just kinda backed away from me.

my guess would be so drivers are more likely to keep both hands on the wheel...since i don't have an OH SHIT handle on the drivers side of my truck, usually just hang on to the door...lol...or KC lightbar sometimes...

its considered an obstruction to have one on the drivers side, so you dont have your arm in the way.
