So, I gotta leak from my radiator and my overflow is low, I put distilled water in there for now but I need to know do I HAVE to put dexcool in when I get my new radiator? I have read some bad stuff about dexcool, should I be worried?... How much antifreeze and water will I need to put into my 96 Yukon 5.7 4x4 4-door. I was planning on getting a radiator with an aluminum core and plastic end tanks... any comments, suggestions on what type of radiator I should get?

Unless you flush everything else very well don't put anything other than dexcool back in there. The dexcool can mix with the other coolant types and form a sludge. As long as you take care of dexcool and change it when needed there is nothing wrong with it.

you could try to flush the engine with water, then switch to conventional coolant
