Sup guys,

please be aware, I don't know much (if anything) about suspensions, but am willing to learn as I work on getting my truck where I want it.

I'm wanting to level out my 04 1500 crew cab, but need info before I go for it. I don't want to crank torsion bars to level the front out, what I want to do is drop the rear end 2". In order to do that I believe I need 2" drop shackles.

Question is, who sells the shackles to drop a CC? I checked McGaughy's site, but the only options they have are regular and extended cabs. Also, do the shackles replace factory ones? If not, what other pieces of hardware will I need in addition to the shackles?

Thanks in advance! :shake:

Not sure why they don't list the CC trucks, but they should work fine regardless. They do replace the factory shackles, and be prepared to drop the factory receiver hitch to install if so equipped. Outside of that, get 'er done!

The shackles will work on any GM truck. I have Belltechs for $55 shipped for forum members
Awesome! I'll PM you during the week of the 20th, I get back from my vacation then.

Is there anyway to not remove the factory receiver hitch? I'd like to be able to pull a trailer if needed. I wouldn't mind removing the factory receiver and installing a different one, but if I can't keep a receiver, I may have to go a different route with leveling (such as raising the front, but I REALLY don't want to do that.)

You have to take it off to get to everything but you can put it back on with no problems after you install the new shackles.

Took me like 30 mins to go to autozone for shackles, drop hitch and put new shackles on, and reinstall hitch. Having a extra set of hands helps :shake:

Did mine in 2 hours. Dropped hitch, removed stock shackles (took the longest couldnt hardly get the bolt out) then installed drop shackles (leave bolts alittle loose, drive it down the road and back, tighten them up and your good), bolt the hitch back up and enjoy. It will not sit perfectly level so be ready for that. You can always just remove the middle leaf or get some spring clamps to get it at 3" so it will sit level... Whatever you want but you might enjoy alittle tiny bit of sport rake. I dont lol.

^This pic is before i got new tires the size was 275/55's had one brand on the front and another on the rear which is why it does look like a good bit of rake still.
