Hey everyone!

Its been a while since I have been on the site.

I have tried searching the site for previous threads before posting a topic.
If any of y'all know of a member that has done this before or posted a thread, any forwarding would be appreciated!!

Ive got a 2012 GMC Sierra 2DRSB and I want to install my CB Radio.

I have already run antenna cable from my antenna of which I have mounted under and along the lip of the top of the bed. Pretty Slick rick.

BUT!!!!! Im having trouble figuring out a good place to mount the CB.

I don't want to put it on the dash(obviously) or behind the seat(obviously) but my options seem limited because of the small amount of space that im working with..

I have a Cobra 25 LTD WX Classic.

So if i could have a few good men give me some ideas on wht they would do or maybe some pics of their jobs, That would be greaaaaat(in the voice of Bill Lumbergh)

Thanks,
David

Antenna under the lip of the bed? are you serious?

You will have little to no send/receive. (edit) NO send and receive unless your talking to the guy driving next to you.
Whats in your head?
There is a reason, Antennas are vertical, Above and as centered on the vehicle as possible.

Yea wrong idea for that one sir.... I am at work right now .. I have a new phone all my pic of my cb installed are on the old phone I made a custom bracket to the roof where the dome lights are... I will post pics for you either after midnight when I get back home after work or later tomorrow.. My bigger plan is to cut a bigger hole in the headliner for the cb to fit with a metal case around it with the dome lights and bt speaker mounted to it .. But this will do for now ..

That's funny stuff man. I could have google searched it but I figured why would I be a part of a forum for my vehicle and not make good use of it? So I decided to ask you guys and make good use of the Website. Definitely going to use that link though in the future haha.

Thanks for the input ezdaar. I'll re-run that. The theory behind doing that was to try to keep it as subtle as possible I'm not going for the whole huge antenna with look. I'll figure something oout.
wow you are a new level of stupid
Graystone.....if you were a little more explanatory than your one word simple minded response I would have understood where you were coming from a little more partner.

easiest thing to do is use self tapping screws to mount the bracket to the dash like this
[/IMG]this isn't in my truck but my setup is close minus the external speaker. As of the antenna 102" steel whip mounted to the tool box. thats what I run on my hunting truck. 99% of folks on here won't like it but it works and works well

You can just see in the rear view mirror though... That's why I plan to cut more of a hole in the headliner to recess it up further
