That's the most likely source of the smell. Standing water/soaking into upholstery - no bueno. Dry it out real good and lysol it.

Just pooled water in the door (the drains plug easily) wouldn't necessarily generate a moldy smell.

You might see if your hvac system as a cabin air filter and examine/change it, or if the a/c vent is plugged (this is the vent from the in-cab evaporator, normally a rubber hose/fitting that goes into the engine compartment and then drains onto the ground).

That bodystyle is notorious for holding water in the door panels, a lot of people have drilled more holes so they can drain.

Maybe coming from the 3rd brake light? I noticed water stains in the head liner upper rear corners. When I was trying to figure out why my liner had water stains I seen some videos of people stating they had water pooling due to the 3rd brakelight seal.

So i've had this moldy smell in my '09 crew cab for a while, but is hasn't been anything strong and it isn't something that i can pinpoint with ease. About a month ago, i decided to pull the weather tech floor liners and check the carpet and found nothing out of the ordinary.... no wet areas, not white mold residue... nothing. HOWEVER, when i went to close the passenger side front door = i was shocked to hear water sloshing around. i reached under the door and pulled off the bottom weather strip and water poured out for at least 2 minutes. Could this smell be coming from inside the door panel or something else that i'm missing? I guess i'll be pulling that door panel and give that thing a cleaning.

They used to have plugs in bottom of doors . i usually drill some if they do not. HHope that helps.

No visible stains to suggest brake light is leaking, but I'll dig into it. Gonna start with the AC, cabin air filter, etc.

Time to give my beast some TLC, LOL.

Change.... did notice some light discoloration on the headliner in the back, plus condensation in the 3rd brake light. Time to change that as the New Step 1, LOL.

I think I bought mine from 1A Auto. Pretty sure I bought OEM. It was a few years ago so I can't say for certain.
