The truck turns over then dies, I'm assuming PL2 is killing the injection system.

It's an interesting problem and I've gone through two red tops Optima's because of it. If I put the Optima on a trickle charger it will charge in under 5 minutes and the truck will start. If I allow the truck to sit overnight off the trickle charger it turns over but doesn't start. Now the kicker- if I charge the battery and leave the battery DISCONNECTED (ie. eliminating potential truck drains), after 3-4 days it will turn over but not start.

A "fully" charged battery will always start the truck.

Another question do i go back to a yellow top or switch to Exide Orbital or something else?

If it is a PL2 issue, I believe the security light should be staying lit on the dash. Is it doing that?
