I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 and my radio screen say (Waiting for Update Media). I can still use my radio on my steering wheel. But I can't use my apple play or anything.

Me personally, I would remove the fuse for the whole radio then plug it back in see if it resets, or send this picture to whiteautoandmedia.com see if they can help you since they do the programming of radio module and HMI

i did send it to them and they said it was my HMI. i just like being sure
