Preferably W/O removing the box. 2000 GMC - I have them loose but can't get a hammer between the bed and the bolt to get a good swing. Any suggestions?

I just played with the jack until i "balanced out" the pressure so that the bolt was easy to remove. I didnt' use a hammer or anything, just smacked the bolt with the end of the wrench and then pulled it out. It took me a little while to get the pressure off of it just right. I didn't take the wheels off or anything, just jacked up the back until the pressure was off the leaf spring, pulled the bolts, then reversed the process with the new shackles.

hope this helps
