I recently put a set of Led switchbacks in my truck and noticed that when I turn on my HID fog lights it causes the drivers side parking light to go very dim or not even on at all. The passenger side is still bright white and both flash bright amber when the signals are on. The parking light works fine with just headlights on or on by themselves but as soon as the fogs are turned on it goes dim. I clipped the pin for the hyperflash so the turn signals flash kind of normally. One of my friends with an 04 silverado just put the same setup in his truck and its doing the exact same thing. Any ideas on what could be going on?

Needing resistors only goes for the blinkers. If they are at the correct brightness with park & headlights on, I would be willing to bet that they are alright. I haven't heard of clipping a pin as a method to stop the hyperflash. The OP's truck can use a replacement electronic flasher with no problem. Either clipping the pin (I assume on one of the relays under the hood) caused some issue or there is a problem with the wiring related to the fog lights. Bad ground or some issue with the wiring itself.

I clipped pin 7 on the factory flasher module to eliminate the hyperflash. Its been described in a few threads on here and other forums.

I'm going to investigate the wiring a bit. I also have an extra relay harness so I'll see if that makes any difference. Also I have noticed that when I turn the fogs on it makes a single popping noise through my stereo and disconnects my ipod so something is up there.

Thanks.
