Im in the market for 6.5's for my front doors. Component sets are out the question. Ive been thinking of either, but ive been leaning toward the TYPE R's

SPR-17C 6-1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker TYPE R

SPS-600 6-1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker TYPE S

Infinity Reference 6032cf 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers

Infinity Reference 6022i 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers

Nevermind i just bought the Infinity Reference 6022i 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers.

After talking to a guy at crutchfield he explained that the type R's are 1/4'' too deep and that the infinty's are going to be more effiecient if im not going to run amp to them. the 6022 si's are last years model and are on sale so if anyone is looking for speakers id get a set before they are gone. Just my $0.02

Too deep for a GMFS door?....

What he should have said is that you need an amplifier to properly run the Type-R's.

I'm glad you took the Infinity because the Type-S sound like asshole. :waytogo:

Agreed. Too deep....yeah right. I've fit Premier TS-C720PRS 6.75" comps in an OBS and NBS that are just a bit deeper than the Type-Rs, and still had plenty of clearance for the windows to roll down. My set came with matched spacers that were about 1/4" thick, but you can easily make your own.
