Lift, Wheels & Tires Questions

So I want to lift my 01 Chevy ECSB Z71 and I still have some questions I need help with. I want to run 18" or 20" wheels, probably KMC Hoss and either 35" or 37" tires. The 3 kits I have been looking at are:

Superlift F.I.T. 5-6" Kit, Superlift 6-7.5" (comes with AutoTrac Driveshaft), and the Cognito 7-9" kit.

I'm just not to sure about which kit would be best to run. I like the Cognito lift but Superlift is a little better price. What would I need to run to clear 37's? I would also install a 3" BL if needed. Is there any major differences between those kits?

I was in the same situation a couple months ago. I did a lot of research, searched on here and FSC, and talked to a couple different shops here in town. I ended up going with the Superlift FIT with 35s on 18s and am completely satisfied with my decision. Do a search, you will find tons of useful info! Good luck with your decision!
see my sig for the setup. i'm cranking the front today to level it out.
That does look pretty good. So with the F.I.T. you don't need a new front driveshaft right?
nope, got my stock drive shaft in and works fine. rides pretty good too. i did upgrade to the bilstein shocks though.
If you plan to crank the torsion bars a good amount (or plan for more height) I wouldnt recommend going with the FIT kit. Out of the other two kits Id say Cognito. Its more expensive but its definately worth it. You get what you pay for.
I have the Superlift 6-7.5" and love it but if I could do it over again I would have just waited and saved up for the Cognito 10-12", trust me you will want it bigger by the end of the first month or so.
Whats done to the stang in your sig?
If you want to run 37's, dont make the same mistake I did. Buy the 10 inch Cognito kit. I wish I had. That way you dont have to run a body lift.
Yeah I do know I will already want more height so I guess I should just save up for the Cognito 10-12" kit. What do you suggest running for the rear suspension and should I run the dual front shocks? Also, what gears would be best to run 37's or possibly bigger in the future?

The rear suspension depends on how you want the truck to sit. If you want it level and assuming the front is set at 10" then go with an 8" spring pack. You are probably thinking that doesnt sound right but you have to remember our trucks come from the factory with a 2" rake in the rear so really you would be sitting level.

Dual shocks up front is more looks than function. Its wont ride or perform any better than running single shocks.

4.56s or 4.88s are good ratios to run with 37s but 4.88s will feel closer to stock settings.

Good idea about running the 10-12 cognito. Lifting a truck is expensive so I would not get ahead of myself to much unless you have the money do to everything you want. You can upgrade to dual shocks later and a better rear set up. I suggest just getting the basic kit at first, that will get you in the air and rolling. Then when money permits you can do all the upgrades you want.

Thats what I am doing. :shake:

I want it to sit level so I guess a 8" spring pack would be what I want. I will probably just run single shocks up front then if it doesn't perform any better and I will probably run 4.88s as well then. Thanks!

Nice setup.
We just finished my buddys 01 Cobra that he swapped to the cast block from Western Motorsports and the complete motor with a KB2.6, TKO600, Moser 9"(solid axle swap)spool, 3.73s, BFG 315 drag radials with weld draglites front and back, etc it has literally everything done to it. On 15lbs and pump gas with water meth he has made 618RWHP and he wants to eventually get it up to about 25lbs with race gas and water meth, the blower is not even close to its effiecency level so it should make some pretty sick power once its all done.
