SO i just checked the maintenance area and didn't see anything so if anyone wants to contribute to it.

what would be the basic maintenance on a lifted truck 2 or 4wd. ie, ball joints, rear end, wheel bearings, tranny...

just list your personal experience wuth your lifted truck and what has gone wrong with them...over time a list can be made up of the most common things... what do yall think?
also include your wheel/lift combo as well as a pic or so...:worship:

hubs, balljoints, inner and outer tie rods, pitman and idler arms should all be checked frequently.

i've replaced every one of those.
I grease the ball joints, control arms, pitman arm, idler arm, U joints every 2 weeks.

I retighten the UCA alignment bolts every 2 weeks.

And i check the bolts on the lift kit every 2 or 3 months.
Type of mud my truck sees. 167k on orginal ball joints that are still going strong. It likes to eat hubs and u-joints though. If you play in deep water chances are you will have cake mix in your diffs.

It's worth it, It doesn't take long to do that stuff.

I forgot to put i rotate the tires every 3000 miles on the dot.

edit - i forgot i grease the tie rods too, but hopefully switching to heims here pretty soon.
Oh yea, I'm still on stock tie rods. Amazing the boggers haven't pretzled them yet. :roflmao: Anyone know how the cognito heims hold up in the mud?
cognito heims seem to be not so great. i'm just keeping my stockers. you can always hammer them straight on the trail.

ive heard some mixed reviews on the cognito heims, couple guys on here have bent them and a couple guys have never had problems with them. I guess it really comes down to how hard you beat on your truck

I can honestly say that when mine bent i was not beating on it any harder than i had done to my stock TRE's and they bent. If i had it to do all over i would have just bought the slip on reinforcements.
