just noticed this problem..it takes maybe 3-4 seconds of cranking to start the damn thing, or crank ones, turn off, crank again and it fires..also idle is goofy...when i come to a stop it wants to die once in a while, and idle jumps around from 400-800..

but if the truck was just running, then i shut it off, and start it, it goes right away

i know its not the fuel pressure regulator because the one on there is new and i tried the one that came with the motor as well and it did the same thing..MAF is also brand new since i had a warrenty and figured to get a new one for the new motor..plugs and wires are new also, along with a clean TB

any ideas would be great..thanks guys

I have seen a bad fuel pump cause that on my firebird but it also had a really bad worn timing chain with 180,000 miles on a stock LT1, but the fuel pump went bad and I changed the timing chain and it was half a crank after that.

funny thing..fixed it tonight..get to my buddies house..truck wouldnt start, no gear selector or headlights..this happened when i put the motor in..no gear selector shows up and headlights dont work, no fuel pump etc...the ground on top of the block, coming from the wires on the firewall, passenger side, right on top of block behind intake..bolt was tight, but wire was loose in the ring terminal( fuckin like 18 gauge wire) i pulled it out a little to tighten it, and it starts first try..i will be moving this ground and upgrading the wires..its rediculous that an 18 gauge wire stops the whole truck from working, causes it to run shitty...

earlier today it died on me while driving when i hit a bump..its cuz that wire was loose in the terminal..just baffles me how a tiny ground wire like that can control so much

that thing will cause it to go into limp mode on the newer ones if its loose as well
its so damn stupid..this tiny little wire coming from god knows where, grounded to one tiny bolt on top of the back of the motor..this caused me hours of confusion when we tried to start it, almost made me crash when it died going through an intersection, caused 8 seconds cranks to start it plus shitty idle, and almost stranded me at my friends house in the middle of nowhere..like i said, thank god i put the motor in and knew of the shitty wire
