I have a 2009 Sierra with a 5.3 in it. I was playing around racing a buddies tundra and was keeping up with him until my truck shifts and I would loose so much power he would just take off after that. Can someone explain why so much power was lost? I have traction control on if that makes a difference.

LOL-Torque Management and rev limiter/shift point. Get a tune and take all the torque management out of the engine and a decent amount out of the transmission (between 25-50% taken off), as well as have your shift points and rev limiter taken out or put it up higher.
