i had a thread in memeber trucks section about my crew cab, and someone asked for pics of my project trucks, then they suggested i make a project thread.. well here it is. im a bit of a pic whore btw

what started the whole thing.. when i was 15 i bought my first LUV..

started off buying a 76 2wd.. in rough shape, got it cheap..

i was originally going to do the usual 350sbc swap as my dad already had a block i could have. but Had20z had his 5.3/4l60e for sale cheap.. i was wanting to do a lsx swap into my blazer, so why not do it into something im not trying to daily..

i wanted to run long tubes. already decided to do away with the torsion bars in place of coil overs. well i bought a set of camaro Long tubes.. didnt quite fit.. so i widened the frame.
cleaning the frame up..

then i was on s10forum, and one of the guys over there had a 78 or 79 luv truck 4x4 that he was going to do up.. well he decided he wanted to sell it.. he only wanted 600 and it was in damn good shape.. only problem was he was in TN. i was to lazy to drive after it.. so 600 more dollars and i got it shipped here:head:

started tearing it apart asap to swap the nice 4x4 body to my 2wd frame.. did it fast so i didnt white trash the neighborhood up lulz

got tires for my wheels, and stuck em on..

then i got to looking under the truck, and since the 155/60's are shorter than the steelie tires.. my engine crossmember was like 3/4" off the ground at the ride height i wanted..

that means... 2" Z

at first i wasnt going to make tranny crossmember removeable since i dont mind pulling engine and tranny out together.. but i didnt realize iw as going to have to raise cab to do so lol.. so i make it removeable and raised up the pipe for exhaust to run through so they dont hang down.

didnt want to run stock dash.. so picked up 40 feet of 3/4" square tubing..

didnt want master cylinder under the hood.. so i looked at some pics, and figured out the ratio i needed for the brakes, and went to town.

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD thats where im at now.. i havent been managing my money well lately so no parts have been bought in a lil while.. i bought the first luv 2/7/09 and been working on it since..

also.. alot of things still need finish welding, gusseting etc.. so dont freak out just yet.

but if you see something that you think needs work regardless of being finished, feel free to let me know. this is my first time doing this much work on my own.

thanks man! my dad has built quite a few cars so if i get kinda stuck somewhere he will guide me, or ill read up on the internet. i already want to do a full chassis and this truck isnt even close to being done.

If I ever win the lotto, I am going to pay you big bucks to make me one just like this. I am not even joking. :worship:
you can just buy this one.. everything i own has a price tag.

Lookin awesome so far.

I think it would look sick as hell if you shortened the back of the box up a little.

Like take out the area in between the red lines so that the distance behind the rear tire was about the same as the distance in front of the rear tire. Looks weird to me right now with the wheel well being kinda far forward.
