Well not exactly sure how to do this so bare with me. I have over time gotten the K&N filter oil on my tb and would like to get that cleaned off with out descreening it. Is there some process I need to follow so i don't mess it up? I know these things are sensitive and ive never had to do this before so any input would be appreciated:shake:

Go to the auto parts store and pick up a can of MAF Cleaner

Remove your intake hose to expose the MAF, or remove the MAF all together from the filter box, and hose it down for a good 10-15 seconds. The wires inside are VERY fragile, do NOT touch them. Just spray them down. Ensure the honeycomb mesh is clean as well.

Let dry for about 10 minutes, and reconnect everything. Fire it up.

And didn't you have Ash for your avatar? where's he go? :(

 at the can saying it can add 4-10 horsepower
If your MAF is dirty, then of course it will restore 4-10 horsepower.

What's so funny about that? Why would you use MAF cleaner on a clean MAF?

not that worried about the 4-10 hp but i do want it to be clean and free of that notorious red oil! atleast so it won't be throwing my tune of any or surging from restriction.

I have never bought MAF cleaner...and no longer run a MAF. However, when I was running one..I just used CRC 'electrical contact cleaner' (Non Residual).
I imagine it's quite a bit cheaper than 'MAF' cleaner (because it's not specific) and it's quite possibly the exact same thing.

Unplug, undo hose clamps 'remove' MAF.
Spray with whichever you buy, wait till dry (seconds) re-install.
