I highly recommend getting a new receiver hitch. The Suburban and Yukon XL units are short where they mount to the frame and they end right were there is a crumple zone. I have seen guys bend the frame reversing a trailer up a hill or just a little too much tongue weight. Drawtite makes a really nice unit that extends further down the frame rail.

The pic shows the class 5 which isn't available anymore, but the class 4 still is and is a huge improvement if you want to tow.

You are right. I can't believe GM put these crappy wafer thin hitches on half ton trucks. I do have ultimate plans to replace it. Thanks for the pic! Currently we try to use my f250 or the wife's gladiator to tow, but the Yukon is convenient.

It's the same wafer thin hitch they put on my 2500 suburban. I bought the class 4 drawtite for mine, but I am looking at a newer camper that is a little heavier so I am getting the class 5 now.

So, the OEM infrared Bose headsets from the junkyard work! Us parents can remain as sane as possible, with the kids enjoying movies at their leisure. Just ordered a new set of ear pads for them!

New foam pads in.

Looking at fixing my no bass stereo issue. I assume either the console sub is wasted or the amplifier is fried. Hope to get back to the JY next week for a spare amp. Says they charge $19. I may grab a sub there which is $6, but I would really like to upgrade that a little. Issue is all upgrades are way above and beyond in power that the amp is incapable of providing or are larger than the 5.25-inch hole the current unit sits in.

Anyone had experience with these on the 03-06 trucks? I am looking to keep this system stock, except for speakers to get something newer.

If the amp was fried nothing would work most likely
Good point, I assume the system is all integrated through the AMP. First thought was some type of blown fuse, but I assume that fuse would be for the whole system. I need to get that console out and check the sub, but by then might as well replace with another OEM unit or fudge aftermarket in there.

Tonight was a fail....

Anyone have a good knowledge of the OEM bose system on 03-06 trucks? I have no function out of the OEM console subwoofer even with the selection on the radio maxed. Tried a junkyard subwoofer, and then a premium "dumb" amp. No changes from my current ones. All door speakers work fine. So my issue seems to be somewhere else.

Is there a separate fuse somewhere I am missing for the amp/sub?
