I'm not sure what head unit you've got but if you're thinking about getting a new one, might as well just get a screen style head unit, double-din or flip out and hook the camera up to that.

Other than that I can't really think of any place that would be easy to glance at while backing up, radio/dash is the best place IMO.

ahhh yes, i remember that matt. sounds good, i was even lookin at some on ebay that'd be like....$30....shipped lol.

its more of a "because i can" and im bored and need projects than actually being something i need. probably only use it for hookin up trailers when i am by myself which i can pretty much do anyways no problem, but the screen camera looks cool
EDIT: actually matt you know what i always wanted to do? mount a monitor in the "back" of the glove box so you are look at it when its open, and flush a keyboard from one of those tiny sonys into the back of the glovebox door, so when its open....you got yourself a computer...which would be hooked up to an ostrich....plugged into the ECM....giving you your own in-truck built in tuning computer

I've got a back up camera in my tail lens thats hooked up to the alpine IVA-W200... it's great for when I have the bed cover open to due moving tall things or for animals behind the truck, etc... It's even got night vision, LOL.

I would of done one of those tailgate handle bezels made for a camera, except I shaved the tailgate handle

mind you some of em are the hong kong special....if you're goin on the cheap though, might check it out. i dont want a shitty one, but i dont need a baller one for this project. just a decent quality screen that i can maybe toggle the inputs at a later date to include a DVD player or something stupid and unnecessary like that lol
