That amp should be alright underneath your seat. You will love that amp man I just installed my first KX the other day and it was a very nice amp.

I know a few times I have actually epoxied or glued a board to the back cab wall and mounted the amp to that it looks really good if you carpet the board.

I had that same problem in my old S-dime I had my componets in the kick pannels it used to scare the shit out of me. I never hurt mine though.
