I havnt been on here in ages but I figured I would get on and show my truck it's a 2003 half ton with 01 Dana 50 superduty axles I got for a steal leaf sprung up front leafs from a 84 half ton 6 inch lift with 6 inch hangers i built before there was any kits out there sky's semi high steer machined knuckle to bring my drag link over top my leaf spring. 4 5100 series bilstein shocks procomps zinc costed dual steering stabilizers to match 3.73 gears currently 16.5x12 mickey Thompson classic 2 on 37 military. Nothing to fancy no front drive line yet but did the np 241 swap rides great even with out a track bar been on the road over a year now jumped it no issues my next plan was to put a 12V Cummins in bUT I decided to go lq9 maybe stroked and 4l80e since that's easier and cheaper. This truck has has 2 lift kits since I had it decided straight axle was the only way to go hate on gas all you want but she rides oUT. This was my first truck got her ehen I was 15 almost 8 years later we are here so just wanted to show her a little love. #mrstraightaxle

I'd downsize to 35s and get some wider wheels, along with some 4.6 or 4.88 gears and it'd be a sweet truck.

80e is a pretty easy swap. Anything wrong with the LM7? Must have been a strong enough reason to go through LQ9 swap. You could do cam/pushrods/rockers/springs and it would def be less work, and prob cost less, but still yield the same output. Dont go to a smaller tire size, if anything, go bigger!

No I thought about it but I'm thinking just get the 6.0 and build it while my 5.3 runs and get a 4l80e behind d it so I can put it in the truck in one weekend vs trying to build it while it's in the truck you know

Yeah, if its your DD, i see your point.I did the same for the D60 14ff, built them while thee truck still had ifs and a 10 bolt. it is nice to have a little beater Car to putt around in as a secondary vehicle.
